Fifth graders at a Bartlesville, OK elementary school designed quilt squares featuring their favorite authors' books and combined them into a quilt.

- Currently Veda is working on a mainstream novel, The Corner of Pearl and Moffet, set in a small town in Arkansas, 1954.
- Veda's newest release is A New Beginning from Modern Curriculum Press. This book is on immigrants.
- Veda's biography of President George W. Bush for Chelsea House won the Missouri Writers' Guild Best Children's Book award for 2004.
- Veda's historical, The New Citizen, is the featured book for the fall issue of Kids Country Magazine.
- Betsy's River Adventure, Maureen the Detective, Emma's Secret, and Laura's Victory are new reprints for the Sisters in Time series. Nellie the Brave (a brand new novel for the series) was released in 2006.
